happy fourth of july, everyone! how are y'all planning to celebrate? (yes, i said y'all. i'm just acclimating to southern culture...) this post is a smörgåsbord of all things independence day—i hope you enjoy it!
what i wore today: red(ish) ruffle tank, lightweight seersucker jacket (knotted to look cropped—inspired by this look), dark wash denim cuff shorts, kate spade bag, and mall-kiosk sunglasses =).

garnet hill flamenco knit top in geranium, garnet hill three button swing jacket in blue seersucker (unfortunately, it's not available anymore), sts blue cuff denim shorts in dark wash (i bought them at maurice's in may 2011 but i can't seem to find them on the website. mine are higher-waisted and have a cross flap. these are the closest i could find.), and kate spade bag (circa 2007)
i've been really addicted to polyvore lately... i made this set (at left) as part of my fourth of july decor post for that's smart deco:
instead of buying disposable, star-spangled decor, create patriotic vignettes with what you already have. stick to holiday hues, but let your creative freedom ring when it comes to shades, textures, and patterns. arranging red, white, and blue items together will evoke festive flair without the need for wasteful plastic or cheap ornaments.

and check out my newest polyvore set (at right)! very festive, don't you think? i wanted to create three different looks that would all be appropriate for the fourth of july. i was channeling nautical, but i think it really works. i'm sure you could pull all of these outfits off on any given day! which do you like best?
outrageously cute cupcakes
berries & cream: healthy, delicious, and naturally patriotic
cocktail creativity
have a great week!
